04.10.08 Good things continue to happen.

The other night I received a call from one of our coaches requesting two baseball gloves for two Tech High School kids playing baseball without owning a glove. They apparently were borrowing gloves from teammates. I gave these two guys new gloves from the equipment we just received from the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. Josh Bowling, our coach, will be taking pictures of these kids receiving their gloves so we can post it on our website and send to the Ripken people. I'm delivering some baseball bats and batting helmets today to IPS for use in the middle school program. Also, the Reds bought new uniforms for the Washington High School baseball team, which has excited those kids. Christmas in April. Gotta love it.

Also, on the fund development front, we had a big day yesterday. Mike and I are in the process of doing a mailing to our current donors and prospects, which is beginning to bring in some donations. Thanks to the generosity of a number of people, and the work we've already done this year, we are just shy of $80,000 raised towards our Lilly Endowment matching goal of $150,000, and we have until Oct. 31 to achieve or exceed this goal.

Thanks for your interest and help. This is going to be a year for the record books.

Mike
